Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care is lovingly provided by Rev. Dr. Hugh Hamilton, Rev. Nan Adams and Rev. Anghaarad Teague. Whether it be needed in your home; at a hospital or at the church, please do not hesitate to call on our ministerial staff.
Visitation, Flowers, Cards & Notes
The beauty of our Sunday morning floral arrangements continue to bring joy to others through the Visitation and Flower Ministry. Caring individuals bring the love of our church to those who are ill or recuperating, whether at home, in the hospital, at re-hab facilities, or residing in nursing homes. Encouraging cards and notes are sent to bring cheer to those who are shut-ins and express the care and love of the church to the bereaved when there is a death in the family.
Cancer Support
This open, loving group meets faithfully on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. for one hour in the church parlor. Many are cancer survivors, caregivers and/or family members of people with chronic illnesses. Prayer services of hope and healing are held throughout the year and all are welcome.
Prayer Circle
One of Trinity's ministries that touches so many each week is the Prayer Circle. Individuals gather every Monday afternoon to unite in prayer for anyone in need. Cards with Bible verses are written and sent to those who have been lifted up in prayer. New births, new members and thanksgiving for blessings are also honored with cards of celebration from this compassionate group of Christians.
Soup Ministry
The Congregational Care Committee prepares soup twice a year and puts it in a freezer at the church. We then deliver soup to individuals who need it--people who have been in the hospital, who have had a new baby, who have a chronic illness, etc. We don't typically take it to those who have viruses or the flu unless they have someone who cares for them. If you need soup or know of someone who does, please call the church office or click here. A lot of our ability to care for others depends on YOU and "word of mouth".
Ambassadors
These long time Trinity members serve as greeters on Sunday mornings. They wear distinguishing nametags and help guide newcomers or answer questions regarding Trinity.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
A woman arrived home from the doctor with shocking news. She had breast cancer. After weeks of deliberation, she decided to go through with a double mastectomy as quickly as possible. Needing the support of her church and friends, she bravely faced her ordeal. While recovering at home, she had a visit from a friend from church who delivered a beautiful hand knitted shawl for her. Along with the shawl was a letter signed by the knitter. The shawl brought with it love and prayers for its recipient. In the warmth and comfort of the shawl, she felt the love woven into the shawl.
A new ministry is busily going on in Trinity these days. It’s called the Prayer Shawl Ministry. All who knit or crochet are invited to participate in this worthy cause. As we knit the shawls we pray for whomever may receive it. We don’t know who the recipient will be. The Prayer Shawl Ministry works closely with the Congregational Care Team and the ministers. This project is sponsored through Together In Service which meets in the sewing room the 4th Tuesday of each month.
If you are interested in participating or have questions call Sue White (476-1634). For the directions to make a shawl, click here.
